Toward the end of Feburary 2016, the Brighton Death Forum hosted an event in the opulent Nightingale Room at the Grand Central bar in Brighton.
Among the performers Ulysses Black was invited to present a talk on ritual structures within funeral rites. With an emphasis exclusively on the elements a ritualist can scrutinise and manipulate regardless of the content of the ritual (the content of the beliefs, the subject matter delivered in spoken words, sung songs etc. The talk discussed:

Function of Funeral Rites - Ritual Ownership - Immersion - Explicit communications - Attention and Awareness - Ritual Scope - Breadth within rituals - Repetition - Layering

Ulysses Black is available for lectures and workshop on ritual practice.
